Top Lab at Elma Technology Park
In the eight years of its operations, the Zelenograd-based company Laboratory of Vacuum Technologies (LVT) has quintupled its headcount. With its significantly expanded production properties at ELMA Technology Park, the company has brought back to life some of the best Soviet-era vacuum and plasma technologies as well as developed new ones. Today, the company is ready to enter the European market.
Evgeny Berlin, the company's CEO and general designer, is the founding father of many Zelenograd companies involved in vacuum technologies. He's been in the business for more than 30 years. The Laboratory of Vacuum Technologies was established in 2009. “We started out with just six employees. Today we've got 30, and the majority of them are MIET grads under 35 years of age. Our production site has grown from 100 to 600 square meters. When launching our company, we chose Elma Technology Park and have stayed and grown here ever since,” says Evgeny Berlin. LVT is a designer and manufacturer of vacuum devices and installations with a wide range of applications, from Christmas toys to ballistic missiles. LVT's solutions are used in the aerospace, defense, microelectronics, and machine engineering industries. Among the company's latest achievements are vacuum chrome coating systems. LVT plans to start selling them to international customers. “In Europe, chrome coating requirements are very strict due to health hazards, while vacuum chrome coating is considered environmentally friendly. With our technologies we've been able to achieve very high speeds of coating, which lets us successfully compete with similar international solutions,” says Maria Grogotiva, the sales director at LVT.
