Lumex Group Hosts a Seminar on Absorption Spectrometry
Lumex Group, a resident of Slava Technology Park, held its first seminar on atomic absorption spectrometry in Moscow. The event featured a number of Lumix presentations dedicated to devices and methodologies of elemental analysis developed by the company, as well as testimonials by customers who shared their experiences of using Lumex equipment.
Tatiana Farafonova, the CEO of Drinking Water Analysis Center, talked about using the spectrometer MGA 915 for water quality control in her organization. This institution has used MGA 915 extensively for many years, and was among the first labs to test it as early as in 1998. Zoya Popova of Ryazan State University made a presentation about the application of MGA in environmental management. Sergey Shalakhin of Wessling Laboratories shared his organization's experience in using MGA 915MD for establishing the presence of heavy metals in food. Olga Maximova and Elena Ivanova of Cherepovets State University presented the results of their research obtained with the help of Lumex devices – “Mercury Concentration in the Hair of the Urban and Rural Population of the Vologda region” and “Mercury in Social and Environmental Systems of the Vologda Region.” Lumex specialists held a series of demo sessions and device maintenance round tables. The latest version of MGA 1000 supports noiseless atomization and multipoint calibration and allows to identify copper content in wine and cadmium content in sea water without preliminary sample preparation, among other things.
