National Acceleration Program “100 City Leaders” Launched in Moscow

On March 5, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and Roastom announced the completion of the first module of their joint acceleration program. More than 100 people from 26 cities of Russia presented short-term and long-term goals for their projects, underwent leadership development training and learned how to build teams effectively.

“The acceleration program will run through October 15, 2019 and will alternate educational modules in Moscow with remote training and internships in other cities, where participants will work on specific cases of their colleagues. This format is presented for the first time in Russia – it will help implement most viable projects that will bring rapid changes in the lives of citizens,” said Tatiana Zhuravleva, head of the ASI Urban Competency Center.

According to the program curator Ilya Tokarev, the first module of the acceleration program was devoted to thought leadership and team building skills.

“We have created unique hands-on educational content, which should help each project get implemented as soon as possible. The engine of any activity is a leader and a team he or she can assemble,” said Ilya Tokarev.

Business coach Radislav Gandapas conducted a workshop under the title “The Leader's Cross.” He spoke about the principles of delegation and team building. After the workshop, the “city leaders” started working on their projects. Together with the mentors, they worked on their short-term and long-term goals.

“A part of the educational program was devoted to specifying the so-called MVP for the projects – that is a minimum viable product designed to convey the fundamental values of these projects to the audience and generate feedback,” the program organizers explained.
