New Moscow to Accommodate 20 Technology Parks by 2035
Technology parks with the total floorspace area of 12 million square kilometers are scheduled to appear in Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative okrugs.
“New Moscow has 20 sites, where technology parks are likely to appear in the near future. Nearly all large developers in Moscow have approached us with such proposals,” said Vladimir Zhidkin, head of Moscow's new territory development department.
According to him, approximately 10 projects have been submitted for review to the Moscow Architecture Committee. The agency will analyze all pros and contras of the projects and give them a thorough evaluation.
“Mayor Sobyanin has repeatedly emphasized the importance of technology parks in Moscow. They are becoming an innovative manufacturing industry for the city,” said Zhidkin.
He added that the parks offer SMBs convenient locations to rent properties with state-of-the-art equipment.
Residents enjoy zero-rate land and property taxes and significant deductions to income tax. Anchor residents are eligible for maximum regional income tax benefits.
Earlier, the official stated that in six and a half years nearly 100 thousand new jobs had appeared in Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative okrugs, while the total number expected to reach one million by the year 2035.
To date, more than half of New Moscow's workforce can be employed within the boundaries of their okrugs.
