Moscow to Showcase Local Designers at Paris Fashion Week

Applications will be accepted from May 20 to June 17.

The Government of Moscow will sponsor a group of local designers to take part in the upcoming Paris Fashion Week and demonstrate their spring-summer 2020 collections. One of the main events in the global fashion industry will run from September 23 to October 1.

“Paris Fashion Week is a great opportunity for Moscow designers to make themselves known. The city will support them and fund 100 percent of their participation costs, will help them with logistics and equipment for exhibition stands,” said Moscow Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.

According to her, designers will be able to submit applications from May 20 through June 17. Results will be announced on July 1. Applications must be sent to the Moscow Export Center, a subordinate entity of the Moscow Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development.

During Paris Fashion Week, Moscow fashion designers will be able to sign contracts, establish business contacts with international buyers, journalists, stylists and other fashion professionals from many countries.

Last year, Moscow's exports of clothing, shoes, textiles, and leather to France amounted to 13.8 million US dollars, comprising 89.4 percent of all Russian exports of these products to the country.
