Moscow Accelerator to Welcome First Batch of Entrepreneurs

More than 400 companies have applied for participation in the Moscow Accelerator, a new business support program launched by the Moscow Innovation Cluster and Moscow Agency of Innovations in partnership with Russia's leading technology companies. The program is designed to assist startups in developing groundbreaking solutions and getting them to market.

In the coming year, the Moscow Accelerator will feature 20 courses (tracks), the first of which, „Digital Services“, will begin in January. Eligible for participation in this course are technology teams and startups focused on innovations in education, logistics, retail, and building automation.

The program jury will review submitted applications to select top 20 teams, which will be announced on the program website on December 24. The course will take about 10 weeks and run through March 18. The deadline for applications is December 15.

„The program will enable its participants to upgrade their projects with the help of market leaders and get support from the city,“ said Alexei Fursin, head of the Moscow Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development.

On March 19, teams will present their projects. Two of them that will show the strongest progress throughout the program will share a prize fund of 10 million rubles.

Entrepreneurial master classes and workshops have become an essential part of Moscow's efforts to support small and medium businesses. More than 120 thousand people have already participated in the education programs co-organized by the Moscow Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development.

„Demand for the development of business competencies is high, because entrepreneurs know very well that education is not just a tool for achieving set goals, but also a strong competitive advantage. Therefore we continuously improve our educational offering,“ said Fursin.
